【GAIENMAE】Ichonamiki is Great for Practicing Tricks

Hey skaters!

In this blog, I'll be introducing one of my favorite spot to skateboard - Ichonamiki.

(The video is actually one of the first videos I uploaded on my channel, so quality might not be so good.)

  • WHY I LOVE IT?
  • HOW TO GET THERE

WHY I LOVE IT?

The spot is called 'Ichonamiki' which is a street entrance of Meijijingu Gaien. On Sundays and national holidays from 9am-5pm, It becomes hokoten (no cars) so you don't have to worry about being run over!

As you can see in the picture, street is wide and long (300m) and you can hardly tell but it's slightly tilted. Ground is a bit rough but it doesn't bother you much.

You can just leave your bags on the side. It's in a safe area and someone is always around.

I usually go there in the morning because it gets crowded in the afternoon with children practicing a riding cycle, groups of people taking picture of trees, and other skaters. Especially from mid November to early December, this place will be busy in the afternoon for those instagram freaks.

HOW TO GET THERE

You can get off from Gaienmae Station or Aoyama Ichome Station and both are really close.

1. Get off 'Gaienmae' on Ginza Line and get out at exit 4. Got left after you get up on the ground, and it will be on the left side.

2. Get off 'Aoyama Ichome' on Ginza, Hanzomon, or Toei Ooedo Line and exit 1. When you are outside, Keep going straight and it will be on your right side.

Hope you guys like the spot.

Can't wait for a warm season!

Maiko
