Izakaya Opens till Late Night in Shibuya

Enjoying awesome food and drinks at late night is always fun, especially with your good friends. But isn't it always hard to find a good restaurant opens late when you don't know the area?

In Shibuya (so as other cities in Tokyo), many restaurants close between 10:30-12:00.  This list will help you get away from wasting time wondering around hungry!

I categorized in  a price point so chose the one that suit your budget.

Mon-Sat 18:00-30:00
Sun, Ho 18:00 24:00
BBQ/Gut BBQ/Izakaya

If you are looking for a good gut (horumon) BBQ, this is the place.  It's in the middle of Love Hotel area so it's definitely a hidden spot even for locals.  They have regular meat and Izakaya side menus so you can still enjoy Ajikuara even if you are not into gut meat.  I usually order thick cut tongue (atsugiri tan)  and lightly roasted liver (aburi reba). You've got to try them!

IWAO

Mon-Thu, Sun 17:30-24:00
Fri, Sat 17:30-25:00
Izakaya/Sake Bar/Japanese Fusion

I have been to Iwao several times and I keep on going back for their friendly customer service and good selection of sake.  Of course their food is awesome too. Nothing will disappoint you. The restaurant was originally a old folk house build 70 years ago and renovated beautifully.  The small entrance reminds me of traditional tea arbor. Just a note, Iwao opens until 1 AM only on Fridays and Saturdays.

TAKIBIYA

Mon-Fri 12:00-15:00/17:00-26:00
Sat 12:00-26:00
Sun, Ho 12:00-24:00
Japanese BBQ/ Izakaya

Takibiya offers A-rank quality of meat and their specialty `Nikuno Hymalaya' (800g of Meat Chunk) kills every meat lovers.  They open until 2PM except Sundays and Holidays.  I love their BBQ but I usually go there for lunch to eat it cheaper.

IMAMOMUKASHIYA

https://retty.me/

Mon-Sat 17:00-26:00
Sun 17:00-24:00
Izakaya/Japanese Fusion/Dining Bar

Japanese restaurants usually give you 'fancy' potion but not at this place. Great value! Food menu is nothing crazy creative but just a basic Izakaya menu works for me.  Imamomukashimo is loacated very close from the station, about 3 minutes walk from East Exit of Shibuya Station.

¥¥ : 3,000-4,000

HAKATA JIDORI

https://retty.me/

Everyday 17:00-26:00
Chicken/Yakitori/Izakaya

All tables are private room at Hakata Jidori so You can free yourself without worrying about table around you.  Hakata is known as a foodie city and here you can enjoy Hakata style food without traveling hours! It offers a great course deal with all-you-can-drink staring from ¥3,980. If you are a big drinker, you might want to check this place out.

TOTOTORITON

https://retty.me/

Everyday 17:00-29:00
Yakitori/Seafood/Izakaya

Toto means Fish, tori means chicken and ton means pork - Yes, basically this place has everything. I used to come here when I was young... because I had no money and wanted to drink all night!  Their all-you-can-drink course package is 3 hours where other restaurants usually offer 2 hours. Tototoriton offers a great value but if you are looking for a quiet place, you might want to pick a different restaurant.

¥2,000-3,000

KUSHIKATSU TANAKA

Mon, Sun, Ho 16:00-25:00
Tue-Sat 16:00-26:00
Kushiage/Kushikatsu/Izakaya/Udonsuki

Kushikatsu Tanaka is an Osaka style deep-fried skewer restaurants. So what can be on skewers? Anything! They have a dipping sauce for kushiage which is mild and sweat kind of like a light BBQ sauce. Dipping in a sauce twice is a big NO-NO in Osaka, so please don't do it and get yelled at by the owner!  It's a chain restaurant so you can find another one in different areas.  (There are 3 in Shibuya!)

TORIKIZOKU

https://retty.me/

Everyday 17:00-29:00
 Izakaya/Yakitori/Chicken

This is Paolo's favorite because he loves Yakitori and it's REALLY CHEAP.   It is also a chain restaurant that you can find everywhere in Shibuya, but it's always full. If you are on a budget but still need to eat yakitori, Torikizoku is your choice.
