1. New New York Club
The New New York Club is famous for their custom bagel sandwich shop. They got their fame from the rainbow bagel. They not only have savory and sweet bagel but also vegan option as well.
Here we got the “Oreo Monster” as it is one of their best sweet bagel. It looks photogenic with marbled galaxy themed bagel with blueberry cream cheese and Oreo filling.
For the savory bagel, we got the “Beef Brisket”. The beef is very juicy and the cheese bagel which we chose to pair with the beef brisket. But you can customize with other types of bagel as well!

2. Tsukishimaya
Tsukishimaya is a beloved store by locals with 90 year history! They are famous for the Imagawayaki.
Again, we got both savory and sweet Imagawayaki. The outside is crunchy but the inside of the shells is almost like mochi. Since the outside is coated with sugar, you are able to have similar experience with cheese and honey. With one Imagawayaki you are able to experience different texture and flavor. For the sweet Imagawayaki, we chose custard filling. It has the eggy flavor from the custard and it is a perfect dessert for chilly days especially when if it was just cooked!
Here we got the Imagawayaki Cheese. Even though it is a savory Imagawayaki, it seems like a dessert. The cheese is very melty and it almost tastes like mayonnaise with strong buttery flavor.

Tonkatsu Miyako is a Tonkatsu pork cutlet shop. Their meat that they use is selected carefully from Kanagawa and Gunma prefecture, where they select the best of the best meat.
Since the pork cutlet is deep fried twice, the outer shell is extra crispy! Here you can choose different sauces to dip the pork cutlet as well: special tonkatsu sauce, dashi soy sauce, two kinds of salt, sansho pepper and Canadian Maple Syrup. You are able to try different combinations together but still get the best flavor from the meat.

Muranaka is another tonkatsu pork cutlet restaurant using Hirata farm but is more budget friendly. The outside is very crispy but the meat is very juicy which makes us want to take more bites from the tonkatsu.
We do recommend Tonkatsu Miyako, but if you are into thicker outer shell breading with lots of panko, we will strongly recommend you guys to try out Marunaka.

4. Dalian
Dalian has a very Izakaya atmosphere and has great gyoza dumplings.
Here we ordered Dalian Yaki Gyoza and we also ordered beer along as they go great together! Their dumpling has “hane” or wings which is very crispy. The outside is crunchy but once you eat the dumpling itself, the meat juice inside comes out and just makes you reach out for another one.

Rakuman Korokke is award winning Korokke shop and uses potatoes from Niseko Hokkaido.
Here we got the Korokke and they use potatoes from Hokkaido, called “Kitakami Potato”. And this potato is well-known as it is very sweet compared to other potatoes. Because it is very sweet, the store recommends to eat with not sauce but with their own original Kombu Salt. The Wagyu Tappuri Tokujo Korroke has sesame seeds and the outer shell has the nice golden crispy panko and in the inside there is the juicy Wagyu beef and the sweet potatoes that pairs well together.
We also got the Mikumaki Manraku Menchikatsu. Menchikatsu does not have any potatoes in it and so we are able to enjoy the best Umami flavor from the meet along with the crunchy outer panko shell.

Amanoya is a retro Japanese cafe opened in Osaka in 1927. Now they are famous for their Egg sandwiches or Tamago Sando. They are small bite-sized egg sandwich and were popular among women in the workforce.
The wrapped Tamago Sando seems extra special with wrapping paper. The egg has nice dashi flavor and goes well with the mayonnaise. This box has 6 or when cut in half 12 sandwiches and it is great for a gift for someone as well!
