TOP 10 MUST-TRY STREET FOOD
#1 Yakitori from Ebisu
Yakitori Ebisu is one of the popular Yakitori restaurant in Togoshi Ginza. You can make it to-go or sit at the table outside. You can see how popular this place is by bseeing many staff working busy.
I liked Ebisu because the staffs are friendly and it is a perfect spot for day-time drinking! I mean a glass of beer is the best friend of street food, right?
Ebisu's juicy yakitori is dipped in a sweet brown sauce. We got Hinadori (Young chicken), Beef tongue and Negima (Green onion and chicken). They were so juicy and gooood!

#2 Sashimi from Uokazu
We got us an plate of assorted sashimi for ¥780. It had fat tuna, red tuna, sea bream and octopus. The store is not really designed for street food but you can make one by asking her to pour soy sauce over it.
She told us that her store is specialized in Tuna. Yup, of course their tuna and fat tuna were unbelievable. They just melt in my mouth!

#3 Xiao Long Bao from Ryuki
I read about xiao long bao at Ryuki on many Japanese street food blogs so we had to try it and it was the right decision. Ryuki is a Shanghainese restaurant known for its too-juicy fried dumplings.
I love xiao long bao and have tried many in my life but I can say the one I had at Ryuki was the best one so far! When you break the skin, hot umami juice pops out. The filling is super soft and bottom is crispy.
While I was eating it, I was already planning of when I can come back to eat again.

#4 Curry pan from Hoshino Bakery
Since Curry Pan (bread) is Paolo's favorite, I wanted to find the best one in Togoshi Ginza Shotengai and I found one at Hoshino Bakery!
Hoshino Bakery is a cute bakery store filled with fun Japanese breads and pastries. I could tell how popular this place is because the store was FILLED by people and I didn't have enough room to film.
The curry pan from Hoshino Bakery is filled with flavorful curry with big beef chunks inside. We got ours just off of fryer so it was extremely crispy and delicious!

#5 Ice Cream from Hoei
Hoei is actually a Gyoza store from Hokkaido and Camembert Soft Cream is their new item.
Since the store has just opened only 2 months ago, there are not many information on the internet and we didn't even know it existed. We met this cute girl, Miho, who speak English at the stand and we ended up trying their Camembert Soft Cream on the 7 degree cold day. lol
They use milk and cheese from Hokkaido of course and the soft cream was extremely rich. You can taste the milk and it has a strong and enjoyable cheese flavor.

#6 Oden from Goto Kamaboko
Goto Kamaboko is a fish cake specialty store which has a ODEN stand. It's always fun to choose from the various menu and what's nice is that the price is reasonable here. (¥80-150/piece)
We got hanpen, quail egg, mochi in a bean curd bag, konbu seaweed and beef tendan. The soup is fairly light and nice on a stomach. Perfect for a cold day.

#6 Pork Onigiri Stick from Tontan
Tontan is a charbroil pork bowl restaurant with an 85-year history originally from Hokkaido. Their pork bowl is too huge to eat other stuff on the street, so we had their street food basic, Onigiri Gushi (pork rice ball on stick).
Onigiri gushi is grilled after every order, so you can enjoy hot juicy stick. Sweet soy sauce tare mixed with pork juice goes perfectly with sticky rice.

#8 Karaage from Karaage Kei
What kind of Street Food Top 10 would it be without FRIED CHICKEN!?
Karaage Kei is the most popular fried chicken specialty store on this shotengai. There are always people surrounding this store.
They marinate the chicken with pretty thick sauce so you will NOT need any dipping sauce with it. It's garlicky flavor juicy chicken will just make you smile.

#9 Fried Kibi nago from Satsuma No Kuni
Togoshi Ginza Shotengai has several antenna shops which is shops sell local specialty products from certain prefectures. Satsuma-no-Kuni is an antenna shop from Kagoshima and kibinago is a kind of fish they catch in the prefecture.
We had fried kibinago which is my favorite snack for drinking beer! Kibinago is a bit bitter and kind of similar to shishamo fish. (Kibinago is less bitter than shihsamo and usually has more meat.)
#10 Salt Tasting at Solco
We are rounding out this top 10, with this shops that takes salt tasting to new level. Solco is a modern and fashionable salt specialty store you can try 45 different kinds of salt from all over Japan.
So, to do the salt tasting, you buy a rice ball and you can try the salt on the tasting section. detail cards are laid in front of each salt so you can see where it is from and what kind of food it goes with it. If you like something here, you can buy it.
I saw a customer (seems like a chef) asking the salt coordinator/owner to find her a perfect salt to use for a certain kind of fish. She was choosing a few specific kind for him. I think I will come back (without Paolo) to look for a salt I want to use for cooking some other day.
